The former eighth-season finalist plans to wed fiancee Christina Teich this year, Peoplereported Monday.
MacIntyre and Teich will reportedly attend this week's Idol Prom -- the event formerly known as the American Idol Top 24 party -- on Thursday at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA, marking their first appearance in public together.
MacIntyre released his first post-American Idol album "Heartstrings" last March, but it was actually his seventh independently released full-length studio album.
The singer was the first-ever blind finalist to perform on the Idol stage and was the sixth finalist eliminated from the show's 2008 season.
