Will Work for Food will follow Gertler as he explores a variety of little-known jobs in the culinary world and introduces viewers to the people who work at the different professions on a daily basis.

Some of the positions Gertler will undertake on Will Work for Food include taking honey from three million bees, sculpting ice with a chain saw, foraging for truffles, and digging a wine cave.

Food Network announced it had ordered Will Work for Food in August -- only a week after the former restaurateur, server and actor from Philadelphia, PA lost The Next Food Network Star's fourth-season title to Aaron McCargo Jr..

In addition to the debut of Will Work for Food, Food Network also announced the premieres of Ultimate Recipe Showdown's second season and Chopped.

Ultimate Recipe Showdown's second season, which will continue to be hosted by second-season The Next Food Network Star winner and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives host Guy Fieri, will premiere Sunday, January 4th at 9pm ET/PT; while Chopped, a new reality competition series hosted by former Queer Eye "Fab 5" member and Top Chef judge Ted Allen, will debut Tuesday, January 13th at 10pm ET/PT.
