Ex-'Dancing' partners Mario Lopez, Karina Smirnoff move in together

By Christopher Rocchio, 05/15/2007

Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff came-up just short of winning Dancing with the Stars' third season as partners but now it looks like the pair -- who have been playing coy about the fact that their dance floor pairing had developed into a romantic relationship -- will be able to practice their two-step all they want.

"They recently moved in together," a "source close to the couple" told People on Monday. "It was a big step to take, especially for Mario, but they both think this could be it. Things are going really well right [now] and they're loving being together all the time."

Lopez, a 33-year-old former star of Saved by the Bell and Pacific Blue, and Smirnoff, a native of the Ukraine who made her first Dancing with the Stars' appearance with Lopez during the third season, have not been very forthcoming about their relationship, but were seen vacationing with one another in Mexico following the third season's finale last November.

"[We have] a very special relationship," Lopez told People at the time.  "We're great friends and very supportive of each other."

Representatives for both Lopez and Smirnoff -- who was recently eliminated from Dancing with the Stars' fourth season with celebrity partner Bill Ray Cyrus -- had no comment, according to People.
