"The neighbors are excited we're here. They said, 'Dog, you're not bringing criminals are you?' I told them no, not that kind of place," Chapman said.

Fans lined up to get a chance to get an autograph and take a photo with Chapman and his wife, Beth, Saturday at Da Kine Dog House, KITV, Honolulu, reported.

The shop sells A&E Network's Dog the Bounty Hunter merchandise, clothing, books, DVDs and other items in line with the Dog's image and personality.

Nearby merchants say they are happy to welcome the store to the shopping center.

"Tourism is huge here because of Hanauma Bay. Every tourist that goes by could pull in, but now there's a better reason because of Dog. We've been here 11 years and we're thrilled," said Patty Schafer who runs Island Treasures, the store next to Chapman's.

Chapman originally had a gift shop downtown close to his bail bond office. The Chapmans said the neighborhood was not the best for attracting tourists.

"So we brought a store a little bit closer to our community. People visiting Hanauma Bay can find their way to our shop easier. Plus, it'll boost the economy for this small shopping center," Beth Chapman said.
