Bachelor in Paradise alum Allyshia Gupta claimed Kat was dating Sean McLaughlin's best friend when she left to film Bachelor in Paradise's tenth season during a recent episode of "The Viall Files" podcast.
Allyshia also alleged that Kat had snuck her iPad into her hotel room and began sending her then-boyfriend love letters on Day 1 "to get him through" the process until she could return home to him from Paradise.
Given Kat and Dale began dating on Day 2 of Paradise, many fans would view Kat's alleged secret relationship as a betrayal.
"So I'll be super clear: I don't really dive into all the stuff going down. I just think it's interesting because when you go on Paradise, and you go on to find something, some people go on to get away from something," Dale explained to the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.
"I know people who have been on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette who wanted to get away from an unhealthy relationship. But the stuff that Allyshia talked about, to me, it doesn't really carry that much weight."
Dale went on to suggest that Kat must not have been very committed to this alleged pre-Paradise boyfriend.
"I know, and I'm speaking from my perspective, how I act and how I feel and the emotions and things that I've received. You know, you can't have the level of connection and depth in what has developed throughout this season if you're not present and you're not all in on that person, right?" Dale shared.
"So personally, some of the things [that have been said] don't really line up."
Dale also noted how his conversations with Kat on and off camera never made him "think twice" about anything.

When asked if it'd bother him if Kat was dating somebody while filming with him, Dale replied, "You go on Paradise and you don't know if you're going to stay for a day, a week, or the entire time."
Dale continued, "I didn't know anything about anything before I walked in, so what I built, I was just focused on the present. And the reality is, if you build it and you build something strong, none of the other stuff matters."

Dale pointed out how he approaches conflict the same way.
"If I felt like people were doing stuff behind my back on the show, stuff doesn't affect me, right? I think if you're interested in someone and you're trying to build a relationship, you have conversations and you communicate," Dale said.
"I understand what was built in the moment and you just take it from there. And maybe that's just a level of security I have, like, all I can do is love and treat someone with the most respect possible."
He added, "And if they want to be with me, they want to be with me. If not, I can't control that. But I never even thought about people's stuff before Paradise because I just didn't think it was that relevant."

He elaborated, "Maybe that's just me, again, being secure with it. I just don't really care. All I care about is what I built and what we built, and from there, like, nothing else matters. Because if it was that deep, we wouldn't have even gotten to that point [of being an official couple].
On "The Viall Files," Nick revealed during his chat with Allyshia that he heard Kat had written messages on her body for her boyfriend back home to see and code when watching Bachelor in Paradise on TV.
"The messages on her body were tattoos and self tanner," Dale quipped.
Dale concluded that "everyone in the cast had a few red flags" walking into Paradise but there was "a lot more green" to pay attention to.
"It was really fun to experience a real growth art within a relationship that was honest about triggers and tough moments and the whole nine yards," Dale gushed.
"And ultimately, it's not how you start, it's how you finish."

Based on previews of Bachelor in Paradise's upcoming Season 10 finale, Sean will call Kat out for allegedly fooling everyone. He appears to accuse Kat of going on the show for her career and to stir up drama.
When Nick had asked Allyshia how she thinks Kat will react to the boyfriend allegations, Allyshia replied, "I think Kat is going to do what Kat does best, which is deny, lie and cry."
Allyshia claimed that Kat has a history of behaving that way.
"And that's what I think she will do," Allyshia added.
"I think when you're in the hot seat and your back is against the corner, you point fingers at other people. And I imagine she does that."
Allyshia claimed that since Sean had kept Kat's secret about her boyfriend, that's one of the main reasons Sean felt so "betrayed" when Kat threw their friendship away on Bachelor in Paradise.

Allyshia also slammed Kat by saying she's "not an honest person."
Allyshia continued, "She's not my cup of tea... She doesn't tell the truth, and she was caught in a lie many times, and that's something that, for me, is like, the bare minimum is that I want an honest and truthful friend."
After Sean and Allyshia self-eliminated from Paradise, they resumed their relationship in the real world.
As for Kat and Dale, they will be shown competing in the Bachelor in Paradise finale next week when there was $500,000 -- or love -- on the line.
