While Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke's chemistry in the ballroom can't be questioned, it apparently ended there -- as the Dancing with the Stars' second-season champs are denying a tabloid report that they had an affair during the show's recently concluded North American tour.

"The story that Cheryl is involved with Drew Lachey started two years ago when they were partners on Dancing with the Stars. It wasn't true then and it isn't true now," Burke's representative told People in a Wednesday report.

According to Star Magazine's March 31 issue, a Dancing with the Stars - The Tour "insider" claims Lachey -- who is married with a 2-year-old daughter -- and Burke had an affair while on the road this past winter.

"They didn't go very far to cover it up," "one tour insider" told Star. "Cheryl was constantly draped all over Drew. They held hands, had their legs intertwined and were always touching inappropriately."

In early February, Burke's publicist said the Dancing professional and Matthew Lawrence -- her boyfriend of more than a year -- had "quietly ended their relationship a few weeks ago," however no reason for the split was given.

But according to an "eight-week Star investigation," the couple's break-up came after Lawrence went to retrieve something from Burke's dressing room during the tour's Jacksonville, FL stop on January 22 and found Burke and Lachey engaged in oral sex.

The next day as tour members prepared to leave for the next stop, Star reported Lachey had to be "restrained" as he "ranted" at Lawrence and his brother Joey -- who finished third during Dancing with the Stars third season with partner Edyta Sliwinska and participated in the recent tour.

"If you talk about this, I'll bury you Matt. I'll bury you Joey. I'm serious I will hurt you," Lachey is accused of screaming, according to Star.

A Dancing with the Stars source told People the rumors are "untrue and irresponsible."

"[The rumors are] completely false and cannot be further from the truth," Lachey's representative told People.

Lawyers for both Burke and Lachey are "strongly denying" the affair, according to Star.

"There are too many things going on," Lawrence told Star. "I can't talk about it."

Burke is currently paired with telenovela actor and ABC-billed "Latin American heartthrob" Christian de la Fuente for Dancing with the Stars sixth season.
