Tipping the scales at more than 200 pounds, Chastity Bono is the physical opposite of her svelte superstar mom, Cher.

But the daughter of the late Sonny Bono told "Entertainment Tonight" that was not the driving force behind her decision to join the new season of VH1's weight loss competition "Celebrity Fit Club."

"I had a drug problem for a long time," Bono said. "I've been in recovery for about 18 months now, so this last 18 months, I really spent on that and my mental and emotional health. I was just starting to go the gym and deal with the physical stuff when 'Celebrity Fit Club' called."

Bono said she doesn't waste time envying her mother's figure, but she does wish she "got those genes more."

"I got my dad's side of the family," she said. "My dad's side of the family's got the weight problem. I would love to have a body more like her."
