CBS has ordered a second installment of Jerry ('CSI,' 'Pearl Harbor,' 'Armageddon,' 'Top Gun') Bruckheimer's reality series 'The Amazing Race.'
Producers actually started casting the new 'Race' last summer, and preproduction began a few weeks ago. CBS, however, declined to confirm the show had been picked up for a second season until Tuesday afternoon.
Because of security reasons, the network and the show's producers -- Bruckheimer Films, Touchstone Television and CBS Productions -- declined to reveal the exact destinations and the production's start date. 'Amazing Race 2' is set to air midseason or during the summer. CBS had planned to air the first 'Race' in the summer, but after viewing the show's first episode, decided to take a shot on launching it in the fall. Source: Variety/Yahoo!
