Carrie Ann Inaba is now an engaged woman.
Inaba -- who was filling in for Kelly Ripa while the Regis & Kelly co-host is on vacation -- thought she was helping Regis Philbin respond to a viewer who had emailed the show asking advice about how to make a romantic proposal.
However, Philbin's description of how the viewer should propose began to come to life, as the lights dimmed and classical music started to play. At that moment, Inaba seemingly realized something was going on, and Sloan walked onstage holding a ring. "I've struggled to find the words to express what you mean to me. You're an inspiration, you're beautiful, you're wonderful, you're everything to me. Will you marry me?" Sloan asked Inaba. Before Inaba could reply, Philbin interjected with a "whoa" in response to the attractiveness of the engagement ring. After Inaba laughed off Philbin's unintentional interruption, she was thrilled to accept Sloan's offer. "Yes, I will marry you!" Inaba excitedly replied in tears. The couple shared a kiss on stage and Inaba gave a second admiring look at her new ring. "I love you. I love you so much. You tricked me!" the bride-to-be whispered to her new fiance.
