Shelton won Favorite Country Male Artist. Blake beat out Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett for the award. However, he was unable to attend the awards show and accept the honor in person.

Underwood won the AMAs for Favorite Country Female Artist as well as Favorite Country Album for Storyteller although she was not in the audience to accept the honor. She defeated Kelsea Ballerini and Cam for the win.

Fifth Harmony, the all-girl group who was discovered on The X Factor's second season, won Collaboration of the Year for their song "Work From Home" featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
The other nominees in this category were The Chainsmokers featuring Daya "Don't Let Me Down," Drake featuring Wizkid & Kyla "One Dance," Rihanna Featuring Drake "Work," and Meghan Trainor featuring John Legend "Like I'm Gonna Lose You."
Zayn, who was previously a member of The X Factor UK's One Direction boyband, walked away with the award for New Artist of the Year unleashed by T-Mobile.
Zayn defeated DNCE, The Chainsmokers, Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes for the honor.
