"Thank you everyone for the kind words and congratulatory remarks," Xavier wrote. "We are still over the moon right now."

Xavier apparently asked for Kenzie's hand in marriage at MDRD, a Spanish restaurant located at the top of the Amway Grand Plaza hotel overlooking the Grand Rapids skyline in Michigan.

On the balcony, Xavier set up red and white petals in the shape of a heart as well as oversized white letters behind them that spelled out "Marry Me."

Xavier led his future bride out to the display while she was blindfolded, and then the pair celebrated with family and friends afterward.

Xavier gave Kenzie an oval-shaped diamond ring, and he revealed of the big rock on Instagram Stories, "We went to the jewelers together but the ultimate design of the ring she left up to me."

In the photos, Xavier was wearing a plum suit with a white button-down shirt and black shoes.

For her part, Kenzie rocked a black sleeveless dress with black heels and gold jewelry.

Xavier is currently suffering from a torn Achilles, fractured ankle and broken wrist, but he still managed to get down on one knee for the proposal, according to People.

"All seriousness it was a struggle, but managed to make it work," Xavier wrote in an Instagram Q&A for his fans, later adding how the "full day affair" took him five months to plan.

"It took ample time to secure a venue, get all the decorations, etc. But thankfully everything went according to plan," he gushed.

Xavier -- who had asked Kenzie's parents for permission to marry her beforehand -- said he'll be happy to "help and assist" Kenzie with the wedding planning.

"But [I'm] gonna let her have creative control," Xavier shared.

Xavier went on to thank everyone for their "kind words and congratulatory remarks," concluding, "We are still over the moon right now!"

Big Brother crowned Xavier the show's first-ever African American winner over runner-up Derek Frazier on the Season 23 finale that aired in September 2021 on CBS.

Xavier, who was a 27-year-old attorney from Kalamazoo, MI, at the time, won the grand prize of $750,000 in a unanimous 9-0 jury vote against Derek, a 29-year-old safety officer from Philadelphia, PA, who won $75,000 for finishing second.

"It's surreal," Xavier said of his victory.

"I wouldn't have been here without all the members of 'The Cookout' and every single member of jury and those who are not in jury that were part of this season. I can't thank you guys enough."

"I'm so blessed to have met every single one of you and we all made history this season, so I think we should all be proud," he added.
