CBS has announced a new digital edition of Big Brother will be available this fall exclusively on CBS All Access, the CBS Television Network's digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service that already serves as the home of Big Brother's live feeds subscription.

Big Brother's digital edition will be CBS All Access' third effort at an original TV series, following the recent announcements of plans for a new Star Trek TV series and The Good Wife spinoff series that will both premiere in 2017.

Meanwhile, Big Brother will continue airing on TV in the summers on CBS.

"Big Brother is an incredible success on the CBS Television Network and has always been ahead of its time when it comes to fan engagement," CBS Interactive President Marc DeBevoise said in a statement.

"Already, the Big Brother Live Feeds are some of the most popular content on CBS All Access and with this new digital edition we will explore ways to reimagine this format for multiplatform audiences."

The digital series of Big Brother will be produced by Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol Shine North America.

Big Brother host Julie Chen will also be part of the edition.

Additional details about the new digital edition will be released at a later time.

Big Brother's 18th season currently airs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on CBS.
