In a finale update, ABC revealed, "Dale and Kat have been exploring the U.S. together. They plan on moving closer and building a future together. Their relationship is far from deaded."
Kat and Dale dished about what life has been like after the show during Part 1 of the Bachelor in Paradise cast reunion.
"We're in a great place," Dale told host Wells Adams during the Thursday, September 4 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.
"We restarted a little bit after Paradise, because the biggest thing is understanding lifestyles, like, I travel a lot and it's not always the easiest. But my intent early on was to make sure that I'm spending as much time in San Diego as I could."
Dale currently resides in New York City, while Kat lives in San Diego.
"Fast forward, she hasn't met my family or anything yet in South Dakota. It's South Dakota, so no one is stepping off that plane or in that airport," Dale joked.
"But I had the chance to spend time with her family, which was amazing. And our goal is to just build this relationship as strong and as tight as possible. We've talked about all the things, whether it's San Diego."
Dale said the couple is remaining open to different possibilities because they "want to be together."
However, Dale explained, "We want to do this the right way, and I think throughout Paradise, we had a very real, natural arch of how relationships go. We had the worries early on... We had the moments where we had to manage meltdowns. We had to stand up for our partner."
"Never me," Kat quipped.

"But I think that's a beautiful thing. I think a lot of times on some of these shows, people are so afraid to just be."
Dale continued: "And the thing I love about Kat so much is that she's messy, she's imperfect, but she's beautiful in every sense. And that's not something that scares me, and I'm also the same way!"

Dale said he's confident that Kat "will ride for" him and so they'll "figure out" everything else.
"Wow, he said it all!" Kat gushed. "It's been wonderful... Everything has been really good."
During a separate interview on "The Viall Files," Kat shared how she and Dale have been making "a really good effort" to see each other and stay together.
"We talk about locations and how things like that would work, which is something that we're going to navigate together," Dale noted.

"I mean, I've taken 52 flights this year, so I can kind of be where I need to be," Dale said. "But I've also said that, for me, 'home' is where I build a relationship. And that is kind of what I always stick to. So there are a lot of moving parts."
Dale pointed out how he and Kat both have "priorities" in their lives and careers.
"But if you're going to build a life, you eventually have to make some type of tough decisions, and that's what we're navigating right now," Dale explained.
"We can be public and really enjoy ourselves, which is great. The other stuff will work itself out, and fortunately, we have the means and the ability to navigate that."
While Kat confirmed that she and Dale are officially girlfriend and boyfriend, Dale admitted that "there have been no engagement talks yet."
Dale shared, "We built a foundation there [in Costa Rica]. I think when we talked after the show in June, it was still a deep exploration phase for the both of us. We had many conversations and things that sprung up for the both of us that weren't created by the other partner."

Dale told Nick that moving forward, they're in a very strong place -- but he didn't have much more to share than that.
When asked if they're at least falling in love, Kat replied, "Yeah, I guess."
"He doesn't like to talk about it," Kat confessed with a laugh.
"There are certain things you share with people that you're proud of, but there's also some things that you kind of keep tight. As I said on the show, I love and care for Kat deeply."
Dale insisted that he and Kat have had conversations about marriage, kids and building a home.

On the topic of children, Kat and Dale shared how they'd both like to be parents one day and that's "a gift" that Dale is especially looking forward to.
"I'm not trying to waste my time, and I'm not trying to waste anybody else's time," Dale said.
Although Dale and Kat aren't ready to get engaged, Kat shared what her ideal marriage proposal would look like.
"Not on television, we'll start there. With a gold ring, No. 2. [I'd like] an engagement party the day of. I think that's the best thing because then everyone is excited. That would be really fun!" Kat revealed.
"When we get there, he will know everything. There will be a checklist, but I also trust him!"
Dale absorbed this information and concluded, "I could do a courthouse signature and then let's throw a party and have a destination wedding... I could plan a wedding in three days. Okay, no, seven."
