A&E Network has announced Paranormal State, a new reality series that will follow a group of Penn State University students who conduct paranormal research as part of their studies, will premiere with back-to-back episodes on Monday, December 10 at 10PM ET/PT.
Penn State student Ryan Buell is the director and founder of the university's Paranormal Research Society (PRS), which he launched in 2001 to become one of the first students to ever enroll in a university sanctioned paranormal research group.
Each Paranormal State episode will follow Buell and the PRS team as they seek to find the truth behind real-life mysteries when they are contacted for help by outside parties ranging from The Catholic Church to ordinary families, investigating everything from poltergeists to hauntings and even assisting law enforcement officials on missing person's cases.
In addition, viewers will get a glimpse at how the crew uses Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) recordings, client interviews, video documentation, research and the help of outside experts such as psychics, demonologists and Penn State University psychologists and counselors to try and help those who have contacted them.
Paranormal State is produced by Four Seasons Productions Intl and Go Go Luckey! Productions for A&E Networks. Gary Auerbach, Julie Auerbach and Betsy Schechter are the executive producers. A&E executive producers are Robert Sharenow and Elaine Frontain Bryant.
