Prior to filming the new season of the 90 Day Fiance spinoff, Nicole and Azan also appeared on Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? as well as Season 4 and Season 5 of the original 90 Day Fiance series on TLC.

Nicole was 21 and from Bradenton, FL, when she met Azan, who was 23 years old and from Agadir, Morocco, through a mobile dating app.

Nicole decided to travel to Morocco for five weeks, leaving her toddler daughter May at home.

The couple faced challenges overcoming their opposing views on PDA, as Azan was concerned about showing physical affection in public due to his religion and culture. He also complained about Nicole being "a little big."

Nicole later revealed she had cheated on Azan, but the couple worked through their problems and Azan eventually proposed marriage in the desert.

Nicole didn't want to convert to Islam and he didn't want to convert to Christianity, but the pair insisted their love would conquer all.

On Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Nicole was shown traveling to Morocco after Azan's K-1 visa was denied in the hope they'd tie the knot and obtain a spousal visa for Azan so he could eventually move to the United States.

Recordings of what seemed to be Azan on the phone with another woman talking about kissing her leaked, but Nicole decided to trust Azan and move on from the incident.

Although their relationship was pretty solid, Nicole and Azan postponed their wedding ceremony due to financial constraints.

And Azan -- who didn't exactly seem ready or excited to tie the knot -- appeared to convince Nicole to invest their wedding money into opening a beauty store instead.

Azan refused to even show Nicole's mother a photo of the store when she visited the pair in Morocco, sparking speculation it was all a scam.

Nicole gave Azan $6,000 to open the alleged beauty store in Morocco, while he only contributed $500 to the company.

"Azan is living off her... He's milking her for all he can," Nicole's stepfather Joe Fouraker told RadarOnline last year.

Nicole, however, acted as if she agreed with Azan when it came to their reasons for canceling their wedding.

Since Nicole and Azan didn't get married and her time in Morocco ran out, she returned to Florida and anticipated it would take two years for Azan to be able to move to the United States.

So what has happened with Azan and Nicole since last season?! Are they still together? Did they ever get married?

Nicole and Azan began dating three-and-a-half years ago, and they are still together and engaged to this day, despite the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship.

They reportedly Skype, flirt via text and video chat a lot to stay in contact and, despite having hard days, Nicole still dreams of having Azan join her in America.

"We [text] every day. Call at least once a day. Try to video chat a couple times a week," Nicole revealed in an Instagram Story in April, adding that she and Azan "have been intimate."

"Trust me, he knows how lucky he is with me. I love him with all my heart forever."

As for what's next, Nicole reportedly now intends to marry Azan during her next visit to Morocco.

"She's sticking around for her sister's wedding in June then going back to Morocco," a source close to Nicole told RadarOnline in early April.

"Her intentions are to get married while she's over there."

The source said this will be the first time Nicole has seen her fiance in person in Morocco since 2018. Nicole's daughter May will also reportedly join her for the trip.

In a preview video of the new season premiere, Nicole also admitted she and Azan never went through with the beauty-store idea but she didn't tell her family since they tend to "grill" her on Azan's motives.

During a Q&A session with fans on Instagram in April, Nicole assured fans, "We love each other and have worked through our mistakes... [I trust] him 100 percent," likely referring to prior cheating accusations.

Nicole also confirmed May calls Azan "Daddy" and she "loves Azan very much and misses him a lot as well."

As for speculation Azan is using Nicole for a green card, she insisted on Instagram, "We want forever with each other."

Nicole also claimed she and her fiance have talked about welcoming more children together in the future as well as potential baby names.

"He wants children and a life with me... Azan is a loving and caring man. He's a kind-hearted person who is very family-oriented. I love everything about him."

Nicole revealed she and Azan would like to name their children a mix of American and Moroccan names, but there is "still some time" before they make those decisions.

Nicole also disclosed her backup plan if Azan's visa to enter the United States get denied again down the road.

"We'll figure it out when we get there. We'll be married if that moment comes so it's not like I'll just leave him. I still want to live my life with him," Nicole explained on Instagram.

"I think we would find somewhere to build a life together even if it's not Morocco... I would live in Morocco with him for a short time (a couple years) but long term we want to live in America together."

In addition, Nicole revealed during a Q&A session on Instagram that she and Azan had put their wedding on hold last year because there was "too much pressure," and "not enough time or money."

"You can't rush this kind of stuff," she added on social media. "Do it in the right moment and it wasn't the right moment yet."

Nicole, who has incorporated fitness and dieting into her lifestyle, also insisted in a Q&A session that Azan is completely into her despite what critics may think of their relationship.

Although Azan mentioned in a previous episode of 90 Day Fiance when the pair was hitting the gym together that he was "55 percent" attracted to her, Nicole said he is definitely "fully attracted" to her looks.

"Sometimes you just need to add drama in places there isn't," said Nicole. "He knew what I looked like 100 percent before I went over [to Morocco]."

Nicole told her fans that Azan loves her just the way she is.

"He wouldn't ask me to change anything if I was healthy at this weight. He loves me and my body the way I am 100 percent, not 55... He always reassured me that he loved my body no matter what," she said.

Nicole recently shared that her relationship with Azan is "stronger now" because of everything they've been through as a couple on and off television.
