    TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. Michael Skupin, who suffered severe burns as a contestant on television's "Survivor II: The Australian Outback," is a survivor once again.

    Skupin, his pregnant wife, Penny, and 3-year-old daughter, Emily, escaped serious injury Sunday when their twin-engine plane made a crash landing along the rocky Lake Michigan shoreline in Petoskey.

    The tribe has spoken: CBS' back-stabbing, pig-skinning reality smash may now be referred to as CBS' Emmy-winning, back-stabbing, pig-skinning reality smash.

    Mark Burnett's hit series Survivor picked up its first Emmy award Saturday, one of two new trophies capitalizing on TV's reality-show craze.

    Survivor won for Outstanding Non-Fiction Program (Special Class), a category honoring "reality" shows with a game-show element. The hit series was nominated alongside VH1's Bands on the Run, USA's Eco-Challenge: Borneo, TLC's Junkyard Wars and MTV's Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour. The show also picked up a second trophy for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Non-Fiction Program.

    The BIG BROTHER 2 Houseguests will receive unexpected company when SURVIVOR's Gervase and Sue and SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK's Alicia and Jeff pay a visit to their house on a special edition of BIG BROTHER 2, Wednesday, Sept. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

    During the Survivors' stay, the reality teams will square off against each other in a surprise competition that will decide which reality team rules. The Survivors will also make regular Diary Room entries, just as the Houseguests do.

    PHOENIX Keith Famie, a chef who earned a reputation on CBS's "Survivor: The Australian Outback" as the guy who couldn't cook rice, wrapped up filming this month in Sedona, Ariz., for his new cooking show to air on Food TV.

    Keith Famie's Adventures is scheduled to begin airing in November.

    The first 11 shows, excluding the premiere which is being taped in Kenya, are remakes of Famie's local cooking show in Detroit.

    BRISBANE (Reuters) - An Australian state is bringing in new animal welfare legislation following the controversial slaughter of a wild pig early this year by a participant in the hit U.S. reality show, ``Survivor.''

    A new code of care for animal stars in film and television shows filmed in tropical Queensland would be introduced shortly, the state's primary industry minister said on Thursday.

    Animal welfare groups were flooded with complaints and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals launched an investigation after ``Survivor,'' filmed in north Queensland's outback, screened a cast member killing a wild pig with a knife.
