  • 'All-Star Survivor' edition nixes Palau site; is Papua New Guinea the host site?

    The Pacific Daily News (in Guam), which previously reported the interest of CBS's Survivor in filming its upcoming "All-Star Survivor" edition this fall on the Pacific island paradise of Palau, now reports that delays in filming Survivor: Pearl Islands have forced CBS to end consideration of Palau as the next Survivor host site. According to an e-mail from the Survivor scout team leader, which was read by the Palau chief of staff, the filming of Pearl Islands (also known as Survivor 7) ran so far behind that the producers "may have to do another program right there in Panama."
  • Report: Past 'Survivor' champions balk at $2 million 'All-Star Survivor' prize

    The Orange County Register (free registration required) reports that some of the past champions from CBS's Survivor are balking at appearing in the upcoming "All-Star Survivor" edition (also known as Survivor 8) in a dispute over prize money. According to People magazine, the winners of Survivor: The Australian Outback, Tina Wesson, and Survivor: Africa, Ethan Zohn, have requested that executive producer Mark Burnett increase the announced $2 million first prize for the winner of the show.
  • Colby Donaldson tentatively joins cast of 'All-Star Survivor'

    The Arizona Republic reports that Survivor: The Australian Outback finalist Colby Donaldson has tentatively accepted a spot in the upcoming All-Star Survivor (also known as Survivor 8) series, which will be filmed in November and December 2003 and aired in Spring 2004. Colby thus would become the third Outback contestant added to the show, along with his final-two ally Tina Wesson and his sometime galpal Jerri Manthey.

    CBS and Survivor executive producer Mark Burnett appear to be trying for a grand slam with Survivor 8. As previously discussed, this will be the long-rumored All-Star Survivor edition, with the confirmed participation of the first three Survivor winners -- RIchard Hatch, Tina Wesson and Ethan Zohn -- plus Susan Hawk and Rudy Boesch from Richard's "Tagi Alliance" in Pulau Tiga and the beautiful but treacherous Jerri Manthey from The Australian Outback.

    On Tuesday 'Survivor' executive producer Mark Burnett finally admitted what has been rumored for months -- that he's planning an all-star edition matching memorable players from past editions of the game. Burnett said he'd like to make the alumni game sometime in 2003.
