Actor/director Quentin Tarantino joined the judges in critiquing the performances. During last night's live results show, it was announced that Jon Peter Lewis was eliminated from the American Idol competition after receiving the fewest votes.

The finalists received a surprise visit from pop icon Sir Elton John as they prepared for this week's competition. Producing and songwriting team Ashford & Simpson (Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson) were guest judges. During last night's live results show, it was announced that Amy Adams was eliminated from the American Idol competition after receiving the fewest votes.
