The Associated Press reports that Sharon Osbourne, wife of Ozzy Osbourne and star of the MTV reality show "The Osbournes," is set to undergo surgery Wednesday for a treatable cancer, her publicist said. Sharon Osbourne "is expected to make a full recovery," according to a news release from Susan Blond Inc. in Los Angeles. "She has the loving support of her husband and three children who are by her side at this time."

MTV announced Wednesday (May 29) that the highest-rated original series in its history, "The Osbournes," will return in the fall. The new season will feature 20 episodes, double the amount of the show's initial run this spring. MTV also is planning several "Osbournes" specials to keep fans sated through the summer. They'll include a stop at the multi-act Ozzfest concert tour, an Ozzy-and-Sharon special and "a very special dinner with the Osbournes."
