After several days of playing coy about the fate of Antonella Barba, American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe has reportedly announced that despite the emergence of numerous provocative photos, the sixth season semifinalist will not be disqualified from the smash-hit Fox reality competition.

Fox isn't publicly commenting on the recent emergence of numerous provocative photos of sixth season American Idol semifinalist Antonella Barba, nor are they allowing Barba to directly do so herself. But there is one person that's willing to talk to the media about the alleged pictures -- Amanda Coluccio, the Barba best friend who also made it to American Idol 6's Hollywood round but failed to make the season's Top 24 semifinalists cut.

She may have been the seventh finalist eliminated, but Kellie Pickler will be the first former American Idol fifth season finalist to make an appearance on the reality competition series' sixth installment. The 20-year-old North Carolina native is scheduled to perform her new single "I Wonder" during Idol 6's live results show on Thursday, March 1 at 8PM ET on FOX.

The sixth season of Fox' American Idol finally began in earnest this week, with Tuesday and Wednesday's first performance shows culminating in last night's live results show that eliminated the four American Idol 6 semifinalists (two male, two female) who had received the fewest votes from home viewers.

As viewers received a look back at the American Idol journey taken by the first four semifinalists eliminated during Thursday night's broadcast, they heard a familiar voice. That's because Idol producers have chosen "Home" -- a ballad from former Idol 5 finalist Chris Daughtry's self-titled debut album -- to serve as background music for season six eliminations.
