Janelle Arthur (born December 12, 1989) is an American singer from Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She is currently a Top 10 finalist on the twelfth season of American Idol.

Early Life

When Arthur was 8 years old, she portrayed Dolly Parton in a theatrical production of Dollywood at an unnamed theme park.

American Idol

She auditioned in Charlotte. She has auditioned twice before, in seasons 10 and 11. In Season 10, she was cut in the group round, and in Season 11 she made it to the Las Vegas round.

In the semi-finals of the twelfth season, Arthur performed "If I Can Dream" by Elvis Presley. She was one of the top five females to advance to the finals.
