Wildlife Information

Wildlife is an upcoming American drama directed by Paul Dano and co-written by Dano and Zoe Kazan. It is based on the 1990 novel Wildlife by Richard Ford. The film will star Jake Gyllenhaal, Carey Mulligan, Ed Oxenbould, and Zoe Margaret Colletti, and will mark Dano's debut as a director.

Set in 1960, a boy watches his parents marriage fall apart after they move to Montana, and his mother falls in love with another man.

In July 2016 it was announced that Paul Dano would adapt Richard Ford's novel with a script he had co-written with Zoe Kazan, and that neither Dano nor Kazan would act in the film. Dano stated "In Richard"?s book I saw myself and many others. I have always wanted to make films - and have always known I would make films about family." The film was to be produced by June Pictures, with president Alex Saks as a producer, as well as by Nine Stories Productions. In September 2016, it was announced that Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan would star in the film.

Shooting for the film will take place in Montana as well as Oklahoma due to concerns with the winter weather in Montana.

Producer Alex Saks expressed plans to release the film at a festival, and said that "We will probably secure distribution before the premiere and then we will defer to the distributor for a release date, but hopefully it will release toward the end of 2017."
