As previously reported here, the 90-minute premiere of Survivor: The Amazon, the sixth in the series, led CBS to its first victory on a Thursday night during February sweeps in 10 years -- and the last victory was achieved using specials instead of regularly-scheduled series.

News Online reports that CBS/Viacom has gone forward with a lawsuit against ABC/Disney regarding its claim that the British show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, which ABC plans to bring to America in 2003, is a complete rip-off of the intellectual property of its hit Survivor. Viacom seeks to stop the show and to collect substantial punitive damages from Disney as well.

'Survivor: Thailand' to reach Australian viewers

The Melbourne Herald Sun reports that the current American production of Survivor: Thailand (Survivor 5) will be aired on Australian Channel 9 starting on Thursday, October 17. Additional episodes will be shown on Saturday, October 19 -- so the Australian and American schedules will be synchonized from then on.
