Mariam Habach Biography

Mariam Habach Santucci (born 26 January 1996) is a Venezuelan model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Venezuela 2015. She represented the state of Lara at the pageant and represented Venezuela at Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

Personal life

Habach is a dentistry student and was raised in a family of Syrian and Italian heritage along with two brothers in the village of El Tocuyo. Her father, Antonios, was born in the city of Tartus, Syria and her maternal family came from Fontanarosa and Agrigento, Italy during World War II. Habach speaks four languages: Spanish, English, Arabic and Italian.

Pageantry

Miss Venezuela 2015

On 8 October 2015 during the final telecast, Habach was crowned Miss Venezuela 2015 representing her home state of Lara. She will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2016.

Miss Universe 2016

Habach represented Venezuela at Miss Universe 2016, a favorite by fans of several pageant websites. She also won three special awards given by local sponsors during the pre-pageant activities in the Philippines. Upon finals night, Habach failed to place the Top 13 of the competition. Becoming the first Venezuelan to fail to make cut since Marelisa Gibson in 2010, breaking Venezuela's five consecutive years of placement. Coincidentally, the last Miss Lara to represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2004 Ana Karina Aez also failed to reach the semifinals of the pageant and also sported blonde hair.
