Emily Fortune Feimster (born July 1, 1980) is a writer, comedian, and actress. Feimster made her television debut on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2010. Between 2015 and 2017 she starred as Colette on The Mindy Project.

Early life and education

Emily Fortune Feimster was born in Charlotte to Mike and Ginger Feimster, and grew up in Belmont, North Carolina.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue comedy after graduating from Peace College in North Carolina. In 2005, she joined The Groundlings Theatre to take improv and sketch classes. After four years of training, she was selected to be in the Groundlings' Sunday Company.

Feimster identifies as lesbian and came out in 2005 at the age of 25.
