Hugo Becker Biography

Hugo Becker (born May 13, 1987) is a French film and television actor. He is known for his role as Prince Louis Grimaldi in the television adaption of Gossip Girl on the CW Television Network.

After graduating from both French and English drama schools (Conservatory of Dramatic Art; Royal Academy of Dramatic Art). Hugo was awarded Young Cannes Talent in 2010. This same year, he made his debut on screen with a variety of roles, as a young politician in The Assault dir. by Julien Leclercq, a drunk hitchhiker in La Proie dir. by Eric Valette, a heavy student in The Very First Time dir. by M-C Mention-Schaar, a funny young trader in La Croisière dir. by Pascale Pouzadoux. We can also see him in two police TV shows, in which he plays criminals, or young prisoners.

In 2010, he also made his American television debut portraying Louis Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco, pretending to be a driver, in the fourth season of Gossip Girl shooting two episodes in Paris. He then reprised his role shooting 20 episodes overall, this time in New York.

In 2011, he gets one of the main parts in Damsels in distress directed by Whit Stillman (nominated to the oscar for Metropolitan), shooting in NYC, and alongside Greta Gerwig and Adam Brody. The film closed the 68th Venice film festival and was selected at the Toronto Film Festival.

In 2012, Hugo will be Antoine Lavoisier in the American docu-drama The Mystery of Matter directed by Muffie Meyer. Hugo will also be part of the next Drake Doremus project, Breathe In alongside Guy Pearce (Memento) and Felicity Jones, and of the TV series Jo, with Jean Reno. Hugo also read The Martian Chronicles of Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451) for Les Editions Thélème.

In 2013, Hugo will star as Isaac Dreyfuss, soccer superstar, implicated in a terrorist case, in two episodes of BBC show Silent Witness starring Emilia Fox, and directed by Daniel O'Hara (Skins). It is also announced that he will be the lead in Chefs alongside Clovis Cornillac.
