Zap2It reports that MTV is bringing back "Sorority Life" for a third season and "Fraternity Life" for a second season. Both new seasons have already been shooting and will premiere in September 2003. The new edition of "Sorority Life" will follow the girls of the Zeta Sigma Phi pledge class at the University of Southern California. "Fraternity Life" will focus on the University of California at Santa Cruz chapter of Delta Omega Chi.

What price fame? The unexpected success of MTV's The Osbournes reality series made rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family into instant celebrities, but not without cost. The latest incident to hit the dysfunctional clan, as reported by Britain's Sky News (part of the Fox group), is the admission of the Osbournes' 17-year-old son Jack to a rehab clinic.

Can reality TV flourish at the movies? If the first attempt is any indication, the answer is unequivocally "no." Reuters reports that the film The Real Cancun, a spin-off of MTV's hit series The Real World produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, had a dismal box-office opening this past weekend, barely cracking the top 10 despite huge publicity upon the film's release ... fueled by the belief that it would be a hit.
