After several days of community protest and outrage over the hard line stances of Philadelphia organized labor groups that had resulted in Bunim/Murray, the producers of MTV's The Real World, announcing that it was pulling the upcoming production of the fifteenth edition of the program out of the city, Philadelphia mayor John F. Street announced this afternoon that The Real World will be resuming its plans to film in the city.

ABC has announced that America's favorite young married couple, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, the stars of MTV's hit Newlyweds series, will star in their first-ever television special, a "fun-filled variety hour" of music and comedy entitled The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour on Sunday, April 11 at 9PM ET/PT on the network.

In a surprise announcement, Bunim/Murray Productions announced yesterday that it has decided to cancel plans for its previously announced The Real World Philadelphia series. "After considerable evaluation, we are disappointed to announce that Bunim/Murray Productions has decided not to shoot The Real World in Philadelphia," a spokeswoman told the Philadelphia Inquirer, while declining to elaborate further.

MTV has announced that the third season of Making the Band 2 will premiere on Thursday, March 4th at 10 PM ET/PT. The show will continue to follow the six members of the now established hip-hop group Da Band as they move into P. Diddy's luxury apartment on New York City's Upper East Side and work at taking their careers to the next level under P. Diddy's tight supervision. The Making the Band 2 premiere will kick-off with a Sunday marathon of past episodes beginning on February 29th at 1 PM ET/PT.
