The Smoking Gun reports that Rick Solomon, actress Shannen Doherty's on-again, off-again husband, filed the defamation lawsuit threatened by his lawyer, Hollywood "pit bull" Martin Singer, in California Superior Court on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The suit requests $10 million in damages, but the main surprise in the lawsuit is that Solomon's last name is really Salomon.

Additional details have begun to emerge regarding the mysterious "anonymous donor" who has been contacting numerous media outlets and providing them with short clips of a "Pamela and Tommy Lee"-style sex tape involving Paris Hilton, the star of FOX's upcoming The Simple Life series, and Rick Solomon, the husband of actress Shannen Doherty. Foremost among them is the apparent identity of the "donor" -- and his announcement that he plans to (surprise, surprise) offer the tape for viewing via a new Internet pornography website that he plans to launch shortly.

Paris Hilton, one of the "celebutante" stars of FOX's upcoming The Simple Life series, is no stranger to controversy and gossip headlines, but apparently her latest escapades are making even her blush. According to a New York Post report, Hilton, who's previous exploits have included a Hollywood catfight with actress Shannen Doherty and a widely-circulated paparazzi photo of her exiting a car sans panties, is now at the center of a "Pamela and Tommy Lee"-style sex tape controversy involving Hilton and Rick Solomon, Doherty's husband.

The pre-show buzz about The Simple Life, FOX's new reality series that chronicles two affluent socialites as they make the transition from filthy rich to just plain filthy, has apparently been so good that the network has announced that the series will now premiere with a special one-hour episode at 8PM ET on Tuesday, December 2.

FOX has announced that "celebutante" Paris Hilton, one of the two stars of the network's upcoming fish-out-of-water "The Simple Life" reality series, will make her television acting debut when she guest stars on the season premiere episode of "That 70's Show" Tuesday, Oct. 29 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Hilton is scheduled to start production on the hit comedy series July 31.
