NBC schedules additional 'Fear Factor' episodes for November sweeps

According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC will air two special showings of Fear Factor during November sweeps in an effort to improve its demographics (especially in adults 18-34) and blunt other networks' programming.

NBC got the 2003-04 prime-time season off to a sizzling start last night, as a two-hour “Fear Factor” teamed with the debut of “Las Vegas” to deliver NBC’s first outright victory among adults 18-49 on a premiere Monday in the 15 years since 1988. NBC won the night with its highest adult 18-49 average for a premiere Monday since 1997.

NBC renews 'Fear Factor' for three more years

E! Online reports that NBC has renewed its reality hit Fear Factor for three more years. The contract between show producer Endemol (which also produces CBS's Big Brother) and NBC was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season, but it will now extend until May 2007. The deal also grants NBC exclusive syndication rights, so that NBC will be able to sell the rerun rights to the show.

NBC has announced that production has begun in Los Angeles on the fourth season of NBC’s top-rated reality series Fear Factor” and it will feature many special editions of the program. Highlights of the action-packed new season hosted by Joe Rogan include a two-hour season premiere with a $1 million prize, holiday episodes celebrating Halloween and Christmas a la “Fear Factor” style.

NBC Enterprises and Endemol USA have announced that they are teaming up with ARUSH Entertainment and Playinteractive, LLP to create, market and distribute interactive video games based on the hit NBC series Fear Factor™. Tentatively titled Fear Factor: Unleashed, the games are targeted to be in stores in 2004. Joy Tashjian Marketing Group helped broker the deal.
Missouri NBC affiliate pulls 'Fear Factor' horse rectum episode

Zap2It.com reports that an NBC affiliate in Missouri pre-empted Monday's (January 6) episode of "Fear Factor," in which contestants were asked to eata piece of horse rectum. Mike Scott, president and general manager of KYTV in Springfield, Mo. acknowledges that the stunt show regularly pushes the envelope of good taste, but the horse-rectum stunt "seemed over the line."
