Production

Harry Williams and Jack Williams began writing Rellik while they were filming and editing the first series of The Missing; trying to find new ways to tell a story. Not wanting it to be a technical exercise, they asked themselves, why would you tell a story that way. It became clear that it was all about motive: things happen for a reason and those reasons lie in the past. What happens when you start at the present and work your way back to the past sounded like an interesting exploration.

Reception

For the majority of viewers, their reaction following episode one was not appreciative of the style.
