Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, also called Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters, is an upcoming fantasy film and the sequel to the 2010 film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. It continues the adventures of Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) and his friends, as they look for the golden fleece, in order to save Camp Half-Blood's magical borders from sinister foes. The film is based on the book The Sea of Monsters, and is scheduled to be released on August 16, 2013, and will be converted to 3D in post-production.

Plot

Percy Jackson, the Son of Poseidon embarks on a journey with his friends to retrieve the Golden Fleece to save their training ground, Camp Half-Blood.

Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon.
Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood, Percy's best friend, a satyr.
Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, the demigod daughter of Athena and Percy's love interest.
Douglas Smith as Tyson, Percy's half brother; he is initially portrayed as a homeless child before Annabeth shows Percy that he is a Cyclops.
Leven Rambin as Clarisse La Rue, the demigod daughter of Ares who was given the quest of retrieving the Golden Fleece.

Filming

Filming for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters began on April 16, 2012. The film was originally going to be released on March 15, 2013, but in May 2012 the release date was postponed to August 16, 2013. Filming took place in Robert Burnaby Park in Vancouver however from June 20 - July 22, they filmed in New Orleans for Princess Andromeda scenes. Including the former site of Six Flags New Orleans. On January 22, 2013, Logan Lerman released a statement on Twitter that read "Last day of shooting on Percy Jackson 2" accompanied with a photo of the shooting.
