James Righton

James Righton Biography

James Nicholas Righton (born 25 August 1983) is an English musician, who is the co-vocalist and keyboardist for the London-based new rave band Klaxons.

Life and career

Righton's father played piano and guitar, and Righton was in bands from the age of 10.

Righton attended the Benicassim festival, where he met up with Simon Taylor-Davis (whom Righton had taught to play guitar).

Klaxons signed to Polydor Records in 2006.

Righton began dating actress Keira Knightley in late February 2011, and the couple became engaged in May 2012. They were married at a low-key ceremony in Mazan in the South of France on 4 May 2013.
