Cristela Information

Cristela is an American situation comedy television series that premiered on October 10, 2014, on ABC, as part of the 2014-15 television season. The series was created by stand-up comedienne Cristela Alonzo, who also stars in and writes for the series and serves as an executive producer with co-creator Kevin Hench, Becky Clements, Marty Adelstein, and Shawn Levy for Fox Television Studios. This makes her the first Latina to create, produce, write, and star in her own primetime comedy. It airs on Friday nights at 8:30 pm (ET/PT)/7:30 pm (CT).

On November 24, 2014, ABC picked up Cristela for a full season.

The series chronicles the life of a Mexican-American law school graduate living in Dallas, who must balance her chance to live the American Dream by working as an unpaid intern at a law firm with the concerns of her family, including her sister (a call center manager at a cable TV company who wants her to get a real job), her brother-in-law (who sees her as a freeloader and wants her to move out), and her mother (who wants her to settle down).
