Bates Motel Brief Information

Bates Motel is an upcoming American drama television series on A&E. The series, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, will depict the life of Norman Bates and his mother Norma prior to the events portrayed in Hitchcock's film. It takes place after the death of Norma's husband, where she purchases a motel located in the coastal town of White Pine Bay so she and Norman can start a new life.

A&E chose to skip a pilot of the series, and ordered a 10-episode first season. The series was filmed in Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada and is scheduled to debut on March 18, 2013, at 10 pm ET/PT.
