Avalon High is a 2010 Disney Channel Original Movie starring Britt Robertson, Gregg Sulkin, Joey Pollari and Devon Graye. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Meg Cabot. It premièred on November 12, 2010, in the United States, January 22, 2011, in Australia and New Zealand and January 28, 2011, in UK.

Plot

Allie Pennington (Britt Robertson), the daughter of two medieval literature scholars, transfers to Avalon High without knowing she is going to find herself drawn into a prophecy about the reincarnation of King Arthur. She is not there by accident. As the movie unravels, she becomes friends with two guys: Will, quarterback and the most likely to be Arthur and Miles who with his psychic flashes, is most likely the reincarnation of Merlin.

As she seems to have fallen right into the unravelling of the prophecy, she takes on a protective role trying to guard Will from the evil stepbrother (Mordred) who is out to destroy Arthur and in doing so, sending the world into another Dark Age.

Production

Filming took place in Auckland, New Zealand from May 3 to June 3, 2010. Bethells Beach was used as a location for full-armour battle sequences. Mechnology Visual Effects created 134 visual effects shots for the production.
