American Crime Story Information

American Crime Story is an upcoming American true crime anthology television series created by Ryan Murphy, co-creator of American Horror Story, to which American Crime Story will serve as a companion series. It will be broadcast on the cable network FX, premiering in 2015. The first season, subtitled The People vs. O. J. Simpson, will focus on the murder trial of O. J. Simpson.

Production

Development

On October 7, 2014, it was announced that FX had ordered a 10 episode season of American Crime Story, created by Ryan Murphy, who also created the television shows Nip/Tuck, Glee, and American Horror Story. The pilot episode will be directed by Murphy, and the series will be executive produced by Murphy, Brad Falchuk (also the co-creator of American Horror Story), Nina Jacobson, Dante Di Loreto, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The first two episodes will be written by The People vs. Larry Flynt writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The series was previously in development at Fox, but since moved to the company's cable network FX. Glee actress Amber Riley is rumored to be joining the main cast following her work on Glee ending.

Casting

Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson were the first to be cast as O.J. Simpson and Marcia Clark, respectively.

Filming

It has been reported that filming will take place in early 2015, with the series premiering later that year.
