Tristan Thompson

Tristan Thompson Biography

Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally appeared on Season 7 of Married at First Sight, which was filmed in Dallas, TX.

Tristan and Mia had a very tumultuous relationship during the eight-week experiment.

Not only did Mia get arrested before their honeymoon and later threaten divorce during what was supposed to be a happy couple getaway, but Tristan struggled to forgive and forget and calmly listen to Mia's concerns or issues.

The pair's lack of communication resulted in frequent fights, but at the core of their marriage was mutual love and respect.

Mia and Tristan therefore decided to stay married on "Decision Day" that was filmed in late May 2018.

However, Mia ultimately filed for divorce from Tristan on September 4, 2018 citing an insupportable marriage as the grounds for their split.  Insupportability is considered a "no-fault" divorce basis.

The couple's divorce was finalized two months later in November 2018.

In May 2019, Tristan went Facebook official with Rachel White. A former Miss World America Texas beauty pageant winner, Tristan calls White his "Queen."

Less than a month later, Tristan announced he was engaged to Rachel.

"We are all created for a purpose. I've identified mine. Loving and serving God. And now loving and leading you. You are a Queen. There's no one else like you," Tristan wrote alongside a photo of the couple staring into each other's eyes on June 2 after he proposed with a large pear-shaped diamond ring.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you as My partner. My equal. My love. Thank you Amor. SHE SAID YES! #shesaidyes #marriedatfirstsight #engaged #DivineFavor."

And a month later, the couple had also announced they had already settled on a wedding venue.

"Aaaaaand ITS A WRAP! Very excited to announce that Rachel and I have chosen our venue @postoakuptown Thank you to all the venues that reached out and accommodated us you are truly appreciated!" Tristan captioned a July 17 photo of the couple.

In October 2019, Tristan announced he had once again left Houston -- where he had lived shortly before he married Mia in Dallas, and then also moved back to after their marriage collapsed -- and moved back to Dallas and Rachel had joined him.

"Well well well. Rachel and I have finally settled into our new home," Tristan captioned a series of Instagram photos as well as a video of the beautiful cityscape from inside their new place.

"Houston provided us a solid foundation. Now I'm looking forward to us taking it to another level in Dallas! #ThoseViewsHitDifferentDifferent #StopAskingWhyIDontBuyAHouse #WhenYouPayABillThenHollaAtMe #UntilThenLetMeBeGreat #WifeyHappy #ImHappy #SoooooooChill."

When a follower commented that Tristan has found a better match for him than Mia, he wrote back, "Waaaaaay better match lol."

In late 2019, Tristan also celebrated the first anniversary of the day he first met Rachel, confirming the couple got engaged less than six months after they first met!

"Exactly one year ago I met a stranger. That stranger turned out to be my best friend, then my girlfriend, my fiance, and now my forever and after," Tristan captioned a December 23 slideshow of cute photos of the couple.

Tristan and Rachel got married on July 10, 2020, opting to keep their wedding date despite the coronavirus pandemic.

In March 2021, Rachel gave birth to the couple's first child, a baby boy.

"A Phoenix means to be born again or new life. Zane is for 'God is Gracious,'" Tristan captioned an Instagram post announcing his son's birth.

"My son exemplifies everything in his name. World. I'd like to introduce you to my pride and joy."

Tristan and Rachel named their son Phoenix Zane Thompson. He was born on March 16 at 10:35AM, weighing eight pounds and three ounces.

As for Mia, she appears to have found love amidst the pandemic!

In January 2020, Mia posted a photo of showing herself sitting in a pair of miniature cars with former The Bachelorette bachelor Cameron Ayala and captioned it, "Now accepting applications for our Ride Or Dies!"

However, five months later she posted a selfie showing herself with an apparent new boyfriend on Instagram.

"Love transcends any color, race, gender, sexual orientation, discrimination or prejudice. Happy #Juneteenth," she captioned the June 19 posting celebrating the holiday commemorating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States.

"When it’s your time... it's your time!!!" one follower commented.

"Amen," Mia replied.

"O my darlin," added fellow MAFS alum Jaclyn Schwartzberg, along with heart emojis.

"Thanks loveeeeey... call you soon," Mia responded.
