The Bad Girls Club is a reality-based series from the Oxygen Network that debuted on December 6, 2006. The show follows seven women that live together for four months. Cameras record their interpersonal relationships and attempts to accomplish specific goals by the end of the season. The show's premiere received the highest ratings of any show to date on the Oxygen Network. The casting for Season 2 will take place over the summer. The series is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions.

Season 1 cast

Ripsi Ripsi is a 23-year-old from Boston who has never lived apart from her parents. She stated that until she was eight years old, she thought she was an actual princess. She works, though she doesn't have to, because her dad supports her shopping habits and her mother does her laundry. She is judgmental of people she sees as promiscuous or cheap, and prone to anger. She was kicked off the show in Episode 2 for attacking Kerry and Jodie while extremely intoxicated.

Zara Zara is a 22-year-old from a small town in New York with a population of 200, and the youngest one of the group. She has had conflict with all of the cast mates at some point, because of her talking behind others backs and also her "childish" behavior. Zara joined the Bad Girls Club to see if she could make it in a big city by herself. She has a boyfriend named Jared, but lost him when she had sex with Tomik,but gained him back when Tomik broke up with her.

Leslie Leslie is a 24-year-old exotic dancer from Atlanta, Georgia who doesn't want to dance for much longer. She is conflicted because she appreciates the money she makes and the lifestyle she leads, but doesn't want to end up as an old and jaded dancer. She's had had to deal with issues of physical assault and being used by people close to her, but she believes that she grew stronger for it. After starting college, Leslie left the show.

Kerry Kerry is a 31-year-old singer who has lived in Texas and Tennessee, and is known as "the sex kitten of country music." She has recently been dropped by her record label for her behavior, including her frequent absences from rehearsals and her prioritizing her social commitments over her writing sessions. Kerry suffered from an eating disorder. Kerry had previously been married to country singer Daryle Singletary and currently has a boyfriend, but she seems to stray frequently. Her ex and current boyfriend toured together for a time a few years back.

Aimee Aimee is a 24-year-old from South Philadelphia. She gets into physical altercations from time to time, which she credits to her father, who used to encourage her to stand up for herself. She believes she doesn't need to take abuse from anyone and reacts harshly to any criticism, and does not get along with the other girls.

Jodie Jodie is a 29-year-old from Baltimore. A conservative office worker by day, Jodie turns into goes clubbing at night, and often engages in fights with girls in bars, and spraying mace while on the dance floor. A rebellious woman from a religious background, Jodie is aware of her sometimes vindictive behavior. Shortly after becoming involved in an argument with both Kerry and Aimee, Jodie left the show while most of the other girls had gone out partying, and only Joanna was aware of her departure.

Ty Ty is a 25-year-old woman from Atlanta who has made a living dancing in adult clubs and running pool tables as a "hustler". She spent some jail time as a juvenile after running away from a home she was placed in. Underneath her tough exterior, Ty aspires to be a positive influence to girls who have struggled as she did, and to let them know they are not alone. She is also an aspiring songwriter and is working on her autobiography called Love Me or Hate Me (coincidentally also the name of the show's theme song). She was kicked off the show for punching Aimee during a house trip to the beach.

DeAnn DeAnn is a 27-year-old blonde from Texas. She has trouble holding on jobs, having quit or gotten fired from a number of them. She has a seven-year-old son who lives with his father. She has a boyfriend of four years who provides a moderating influence on her party girl tendencies, but they fight constantly. She also had a boyfriend on the show, but broke up when the show ended.

Joanna 25-year-old Latina from Sacramento who go-go dances, but her parents are unaware of her line of work. She underwent breast augmentation surgery to complement her physique. She has been unfaithful to her boyfriend, and has been known to use men to buy her what she wants, having learned this from her mother, who encouraged her to seek out men to could provide for her, and refers to herself as a "gold digger".

Andrea Andrea is a 23-year-old from High Point, North Carolina who has been accused of "talking white." Her lower-middle class Jamaican parents put her (and most of their finances) into private Catholic school in a rough neighborhood. Although she graduated college, she is having difficulty finding a career, or holding down a waitressing job, and has exhibited a lack of commitment in past relationships.

Outrageous and Unseen

On June 5, 2007, an episode of cut material from the show was put into a 30-minute segment, as well as offering a preview of The Bad Girls Road Trip.

Season 1 finale

The Season 1 finale aired on May 1, 2007. On the show the original Bad Girls, including Ripsi (Jodie chose not to participate) saw their actions on film for the first time. Ripsi and Ty's departures from the show was reviewed by a psychiatrist, which led Ripsi to ask Kerry for forgiveness.

Spin-off & Season 2

The Oxygen Network announced a six-episode spin-off, Bad Girls Road Trip, which will put Season 1 vets""Leslie, Aimee and Zara""behind the wheel for a whirlwind tour of their respective hometowns. The trio will also check in on Bunim/Murray Productions auditions for the season 2 cast. The Oxygen Network also picked the series up for a second season on March 28 2007, with the season one finale being broadcast May 2007.

Trivia

Zara, Aimee, and Kerry were the only "bad" girls to make it from the begining to the end of show.

Ripsi was kicked off the show for attacking two cast mates.

DeAnn replaced Ripsi.

Ty was kicked off the show for fighting Aimee.

Leslie left the show for school.

Joanna & Andrea replaced Ty & Leslie.

Jodie left the show after an argument with Kerry.

Ripsi lasted 5 days.

All the bad girls were on The Tyra Banks Show except Ripsi who declined to come, but she did issue a statement apologizing for her outrageous behavior.

Other media appearances

The Bad Girls (excluding Ripsi) appeared on The Tyra Banks Show on March 13, 2007.

Leslie, Ty, DeAnn, Zara, Kerry appeared on Dr Keith on March 29, 2007.

Mobile Games

The Oxygen Network announced launching a 3G mobile game based on The Bad Girls Club in partnership with Artificial Life, Inc. The 3G game will feature 3D avatars based on all the Bad Girls as well as photo-realistic locations based on the actual house. A series of 2G mobile games will also be launched in the coming months.
