The Bachelor

The Bachelor is an American reality television show where twenty-five single female candidates compete to be the exclusive choice of one single man. The bachelor, (Andrew Baldwin in the 2007 season), has a number of individual and group dates over the several weeks of the show, eliminating women each week in a rose ceremony, where only those advancing on receive roses. The final two rose recipients appear in the final episode, where a final rose is given to the bachelorette who ultimately wins the bachelor's heart.

Although the contestants are contractually obligated not to reveal the results of each round of elimination since the show is taped ahead of broadcast, various unsubstantiated media reports in advance of the final rose ceremony alleged that Horst revealed herself to be the winner. Horst later denied that she had been the source of this information. Some bachelorettes who were eliminated earlier in the series predicted Tessa would be the successful recipient of the final rose.
