Marisa Joy Sobecki-Engle (commonly known as Marisa Joy) (born 1984) was a contestant on Season 3 of American Idol.

A resident of Cloverdale, California, she entered the competition via the auditions in San Francisco. For this audition, she performed Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down."

During the theater stage of the competition, Marisa was grouped with contestants Charly Lowry and Lisa Wilson. Marisa expressed frustration over being unable to rehearse with Lisa, who appeared to have decided to go to sleep rather than rehearse. However, all three girls advanced to the Top 32.

Marisa was in Group 2 of the semi-finals. She performed Grand Funk Railroad's "Some Kind of Wonderful," and her performance was generally well-received. However, she did not advance to the Top 12, as Camile Velasco and Matthew Rogers gained the most votes for their performances.
