Heather Piccinini is an American singer who is best known for being a semi-finalist on Season 3 of American Idol. She was also part of the country/pop group Indian Summer with Eileen Esposito, who is now a member of the girl group UC3.

American Idol

Piccinini auditioned in Atlanta, where she performed Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet" to generally positive reviews, except for Simon, who felt she was affected. However, the votes of Randy and Paula ruled in favor of Heather and she moved on to the Hollywood rounds. Paula remarked that she seemed very prone to comparison to Season 2 contestant Kimberly Caldwell, and advised her to change the colour of her hair (it was blond at the time).

For her semi-final performance, Heather chose to sing Patti LaBelle's "New Attitude," a song choice that was regarded as bizarre. Season 1 contestant Tamyra Gray had also performed the song, receiving similar commentary. Simon made the remark that Heather was a beautiful girl, but was "ugly when she performed", and John Stevens and Jasmine Trias gained the most votes for the night, leaving Heather out of the finals.

Post-Idol

Heather has kept a low profile since her run on American Idol, and it is unclear whether she is searching for a record label.
