The remainder of the finalist field for the current season of FOX's American Idol has yet to be determined but the third season has already resulted in a record deal for one Idol contestant -- William Hung, the Idol reject who never got beyond the program's initial open auditions.
'Last Comic Standing 2' begins regional talent searches

This January, NBC's summer series Last Comic Standing will again search the country for the funniest people in America as it gears up for its second season return in Summer 2004. Beginning January 13 in Los Angeles, talent scouts Bob Read and Ross Mark will return to the show to find the best stand-up comics from eight selected cities nationwide.
NBC upgrades 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' cross-promotion with Jay Leno

Reuters reports that NBC has upgraded its previously-announced cross-promotion between the Bravo show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and its The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Under the new schedule, NBC will run a full hour episode of Queer Eye on the night of August 14, not a half-hour special edition. The "Fab Five" will then appear on Jay Leno's show that night -- but as guests. On the next night, August 15, the "Fab Five" will return again to the Tonight Show to do a "make-better" of Jay Leno.
