Shirley Cothran Biography

Shirley Cothran (born 1953) was the 1975 winner of the Miss America pageant. She graduated from Denton(Texas)High School in 1970 and was the second Miss America winner from that school in four years as Phyllis George wore the crown before her in 1971. Cothran used the scholarship money from the contest to get her Ph.D. in Education. She currently tours as a motivational speaker and still resides in Texas.
