Mario Rodgers was the runner-up on the WB's Superstar USA, a reality TV show that was looking for the worst singers while convincing the contestants that they were actually good. He sung less-than-perfect renditions of songs from Bob Seger and Aerosmith on the show and was well-liked for his enthusiasm and unique dancing style.

Hailing from Newport News, VA, he used his $10,000 in winnings to fly his fiancée to the United States from Germany. They were married in July 2004 but are now separated and his wife resides in Michigan with a female partner she met online.

Despite his brief moment of fame on Superstar USA, Mario was unable to capitalize on it and is now trying to find a better job. He was truck driving for a while, but did not really like it.
