Thompson competed against thirteen other contestants to win Cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model. She was selected as the ninth finalist to enter the house, and consistently took good photos. During the show, she appeared in the "bottom two" four times, the most of any eventual winner, and received one first call-out, the fewest of any eventual winner. However, the judges felt that she had significant modeling potential and awarded her the final winning position over Anya Kop. She is the second America's Next Top Model winner from Florida; the other is Yoanna House from Cycle 2, who was from Jacksonville, Florida. Though she is naturally a brunette, she received a blonde hair weave for her makeover on the show, making her the second blonde winner of the series.
Career
As part of the prize package awarded to her, Thompson received a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and a contract from Elite Model Management. She will also have a cover and six-page editorial spread in the July 2008 issue of Seventeen. Thompson's CoverGirl contract includes a U.S. national TV commerical, print advertising, and a billboard in Times Square. Thompson is the third Top Model alumnus to receive this honor, after Eugena Washington, second runner-up on Cycle 7 and Jaslene Gonzalez, winner of Cycle 8.
