Asia'h Epperson (born April 29, 1988) is an American born singer and ended up as the 14th place semi-finalist on FOX's seventh season of American Idol.

Biography

Asia'h Epperson was born on April 29, 1988 in Joplin, Missouri. Her talent was very evident at an early age especially with her singing at the choir and her involvement with the honors choir for Southwest Missouri.

On her American Idol "Fast Facts" page, Asia'h Epperson cites musical influences as: Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton. When asked to list her top pop artists, she cites; Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston as her top two musical infuences.

Overview

Asia'h Epperson auditioned for American Idol season 7 at Atlanta, Georgia, singing "How do I live" in front of the judges. She lost her father to a car accident just two days before the audition and this fact made all the judges applaud her courage. The judges loved her audition and let her advance to the Hollywood round.

Asia'h Epperson was the first contestant to perform during the first week of the semifinals. She performed "Piece Of My Heart" and was voted through the next round. She sang "All By Myself" during the top 20 week and received kudos from all the judges for her performance. She went on improving with each outing and with enough authority and appeal to land her a top 16 spot and sure enough Asia'h Epperson was voted into the top 16.

Asia'h Epperson, considered by quite a few as an early favorite especially with the sympathy factor from her father's death, was however the third member of the Top 16 to be eliminated, on March 6, 2008.
