Rebecca Asha Biography

Bec Asha (born 29 September ) is an Australian television and film actress. She has appeared in the SBS Television series Kick and several Australian feature films released theatrically including Hating Alison Ashley, The Extra, and Charlie and Boots alongside fellow Australians Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson.

Training

Bec studied at The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne Australia, The Actors Corp in North Hollywood and Improvisation Theatre The Upright Citizens Brigade in Hollywood. She also holds a degree in Media Studies - Journalism from Swinburne University.

Career

Appeared in the SBS Television series Kick , "Blue Heelers" and "Forest" and several Australian feature films released theatrically including Hating Alison Ashley, The Extra, and Charlie and Boots alongside fellow Australians Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson. Bec has voiced commercials for radio stations across Australia since 2010 for 4PeopleMedia. Bec founded the magazine Your Industry in 2006 supporting the local film and television industry in Australia, which was sponsored by The Melbourne International Film Festival. The Your Industry team have interviewed performers from around the world on the red carpet for the TV Week Logie Awards. In 2008 she worked as the Producers Assistant on a network show called City Homicide, gaining script knowledge before penning her first feature film script, a surf drama, and a comedy series for pilot in 2013.

Personal

Bec comes from a family professional runners. She has a passion for dance, and was offered a placement in Australia's Ministry of Dance in 2009. She also has a keen interest in animals, and animal welfare, volunteering over 500 hours since the age of 17 to Victorian shelters aiding neglected pets and wildlife during fire and flood disasters. She is originally from Warrandyte, Victoria, but currently resides in Los Angeles with her fiance, former Home & Away star, Brett Hicks-Maitland.
