Christopher Nolan Brief Biography

Christopher Jonathan James Nolan (born 30 July 1970) is a British film director, screenwriter, and producer, who is well known for his The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012), the science fiction/heist film Inception (2010), and the psychological thrillers Memento (2000), and The Prestige (2006). He has received nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars), Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Golden Globes), British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA's), and the Directors Guild of America (DGA).

Nolan co-founded Syncopy Films with his wife, Emma Thomas, and they have produced all of his films since The Prestige (2006). He has collaborated with a variety of talents including cinematographer Wally Pfister, screenwriters David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, film editor Lee Smith, composers David Julyan and Hans Zimmer, special effects coordinator Chris Corbould, and actors Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Jackman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine.
