A special Wednesday broadcast of "Survivor: The Amazon" on March 26th won its time period (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) in viewers, households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and topped "America Idol" in viewers, households and adults 25-54 in the common half hour (8:30-9:00 PM) in which the two series went head-to-head, according to final Nielsen ratings.
Variety reports that "All American Girl" was an all-American disappointment for ABC, debuting to season lows in its special two-hour time slot Wednesday night. The premiere of "All American Girl" posted a 3.0 rating and 8 share among adults 18-49, far below what time-slot predecessors "The Bachelorette," "Celebrity Mole" and even "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" were doing on recent Wednesdays.

CBS has announced that for the week ending March 9th, it swept all programming categories -- reality, drama, new magazines and comedy -- in winning the week in viewers, households and adults 35-54. Four of the Top Ten most watched programs aired on CBS, starting with the #1 most watched program of the week -- Episode 4 of "Survivor: The Amazon!"
So much for those people who hoped that reality TV was reaching overkill. The Associated Press reports that three of the top four shows in the Nielsen ratings book during the March 3-9 week were reality shows.
Variety reports that viewers weren't exactly ecstatic for the "Married By America" series opener. The two-hour premiere netted a third-place 4.1 rating/10 share in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.
